So what is a ProPoints value?
Other diets use calories alone, but we have a more accurate way of evaluating food for weight loss. Our new ProPoints plan is based on the latest nutritional science. We take into account the way our body processes the four important macro nutrients in foods: protein, fibre, fat and carbohydrates. This formula determines the ProPoints value of a food.
Your food 'allowance'
Eating to your assigned ProPoints allowance will help you learn to balance healthy choices and treats to achieve weight-loss without feeling deprived or hungry. There will always be room for dessert, wine or chocolate! Best of all, this easy technique will help you keep weight off for good.
To do this we give you a ProPoints budget for the week. It consists of a daily allowance (based on your gender, age, weight and height) that ensures you’re eating enough for good health. On top of this you get a weekly allowance which you can use as and when you like over the week. People who’ve tried the ProPoints plan already describe this weekly allowance as their ‘safety net’. They can save it up for a special occasion, blow it all on an unplanned night out or divide it up across the week to allow for bigger portions everyday. Whichever way they use it, it means they can live life and still lose weight.

Throughout our programme books and recipes, you'll find foods marked with a green bucket or green font. By choosing to eat lots of Filling and Healthy Foods, you'll stay fuller for longer and use less ProPoints budget - more room for treats and foods you love!

Zero ProPoints value fruits and vegetables
On the ProPoints Plan, all fresh fruits and most vegetables are free from ProPoints values. Snack on them whenever your tummy grumbles or add them to salads and desserts to help fill you up. This means you can eat whenever you're hungry without tapping into your ProPoints budget.
What about exercise?
When it comes to exercise on the ProPoints Plan, you get rewarded for it. Exercise any way you like: playing with the kids, walking the dog, dancing or even gardening. For time spent exercising, you'll earn Exercise ProPoints values that you can spend on food, or save to maximise your weight loss. It's up to you.
